Daniel
Read the book of Daniel and learn how Daniel never broke his faith with God even while living in a foreign land among non-believers.
Watch the video at the bottom of the page and learn about expectations from Pastor Shaun.
Memory Verse:
6 Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7 (CSB)

Going Further
Hi Everyone! A couple of ideas for family activities after watching this video:
1) Read Daniel 1 – 6 The king interviewed them, and among all of them, no one was found equal to Daniel, Hananiah, …. In every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king consulted them about, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and mediums in his entire kingdom. (CSB)
2) Family Time.
- Discuss the following questions: How would you feel if you were suddenly taken captive to another country? What are things you could do to remain loyal to God when you’re surrounded by others who aren’t?
- Play “London Bridges” singing the words “Taken off to Babylon, Babylon, Babylon. Taken off to Babylon, but God is faithful.” When they are “caught” sing, “Even though we’re held captive, held captive, held captive. Even when we’re held captive, we’re free in Jesus.”
- Locate Jerusalem and Babylon on a map and discover how long of a journey it was.
- Go on a hike, pretending to take the journey to Babylon. Talk about how different things would have been on their journey; what they had to face when they arrived, how much longer their journey was, how they were being forced and taken away as a captive, etc.
- As a family, make some roasted vegetables and share some with a neighbor. Discuss how Daniel and his friends chose to eat vegetables as a way of remaining loyal to God, rather than the menu that the king ordered.
3) Activities. Have fun using the activities below.
