Joy of the Lord!
“Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

We take joy in knowing the Lord and He and his angels take joy when a sinner repents. Learn more about this joy as explained in the video below!

Hi Everyone! A couple of ideas for family activities after watching the video:
1) Read/Review Luke 15.1-15.10 (NASB)
2) Family Time.
- Discussion. Can you remember the difference between happiness and joy? Talk about it. Have you ever had something really precious that you lost and later found? Did that bring you joy? How do you think that would compare with one lost soul and how Jesus and all the angels in heaven would rejoice? In today’s video, Miss Merrilee challenged you to share an activity of joy, either through a video or picture and send it in to Pastor Shaun. Try it! Here are a couple of other suggested activities:
- Activity. 1)Using a popsicle stick and cotton balls, make “sheep.” Take turns hiding them from each other, finding them and then doing a happy dance together. 2) Tape a penny on the bottom of your shoe. Have the whole family begin looking for the penny. Be dramatic and silly looking everywhere. Turn pockets inside out. Look through everyone’s hair. Have everyone take off shoes and look inside. As you take off your shoes, hold it up so they will see the penny on the bottom. Do a happy dance together. 3) Put several coins under a sheet of paper and color over them. Talk about the memory verse together.
- Pray together as a family. Is there someone in your family who has not yet accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior?
3) Activities.
- Draw a picture about today’s lesson, or color the printable coloring sheet (see below), take a picture and send it to Pastor Shaun or send it to office@hockinson.org so that it can be shared in next week’s video.
