Patience Wk 4

Patience

I waited patiently for the Lord,
and he turned to me and heard my cry for help.

Psalms 40:1 (CSB)

Sometimes, after crying out to God for help with something, we must wait for Him to intervene. This week we wrap up this month’s focus on patience. Watch the video below to learn how Queen Esther waited patiently for the Lord to help.

Memory Verse:

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 KJV

Going Further

Hi Everyone! A couple of ideas for family activities after watching the video:

1) Read/Review: Esther

2) Family Time:

  • Discussion: The story of Queen Esther is like a fairy tale – except it’s true! The little orphaned girl, Hadassah, really did grow up to become royalty. Do you think Hadassah felt sad and lonely when she lost her parents? God had a special plan for her life though.  We need to remember even when life is hard, there is always hope found in Jesus! What do you want to be when you grow up?  Do you ever dream of being royalty – a prince or princess?  That is God’s ultimate plan for each of us – to become His children by trusting Jesus as our Savior and Lord.  Then we are children of the King! Hadassah had to wait many years before she became Queen Esther. During the time of waiting, she learned how to be obedient and patient. This made her beautiful on the inside. When many beautiful young ladies were brought to the king, why do you think he chose Queen Esther? After listening to the story, how important was it that she demonstrated patience and waited for God’s timing? What are some examples of how Queen Esther demonstrated patience? How did that help her and all of the Jewish nation? What can we learn from this? Pray together and ask God to help you to listen and patiently obey your parents and others who want to help prepare you as you grow up.
