“Looks can be deceiving”, or so says the old saying. “Don’t judge a book by its cover” and so many more warn us not to count on what we see to tell us the truth. In the life of Jesus, we see the importance of looking past what we see and trusting something else more. Jesus invites us to “trust the story” that God is telling more than we trust our eyes as we live this life. Today we will look at how Jesus showed his disciples what it looks like to trust the story, and how he invited them to join him in the kind of life which does so.
